Recognition Award Gala

The 2011 Recognition Award Gala, a prestigious celebration of talent and innovation, was the closing event of the Rendez–vous du Savoir, a forum on higher learning jointly organized with the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montréal, CRÉ de Montréal (Montréal region Conference of elected representatives), the Conference of Rectors and Principals of Québec Universities (CRÉPUQ), Montréal International, Ville de Montréal, and for the first time this year, the Montréal Council on Foreign Relations (MCFR) and Tourisme Montréal.

This second edition of the Rendez-vous du Savoir brought together people who are in a position to influence our intellectual and economic development. Together, they discussed a topic of significant importance: how universities contribute to business development.

The Gala once again provided an opportunity to honour exciting new researchers, recognize the wealth Québec universities help create and showcase the importance of their contribution to society regionally, provincially and internationally.

Ambassadors appointed in 2011
Eleven Ambassadors were appointed during the 2011 Gala, thus joining the ranks of the Ambassadors Club. The combined events that will be held under their tutelage will attract over 17,000 delegates and generate over $42M in economic and intellectual spinoffs for Montréal and Québec.
