President of the Québec Department of Public Health and Social Services committee for the development of palliative care in Québec, Dr Louis Roy has been focusing on palliative care for the last 12 years. He worked at the Maison Michel-Sarrazin hospice and founded the palliative care unit at the Hôtel-Dieu hospital in Québec City. Dr Roy practices at the Centre hospitalier affilié universitaire de Québec hospital and his current primary fields of interest are the ethics of end-of-life care and evaluating pain in cancer patients.
