ADAPTED SERVICES
The STM Montréal transit corporation’s paratransit pickup and dropoff site is located at 1001 Place Jean-Paul-Riopelle. There are disabled parking spaces inside the Viger car park (off Chéneville).
All Palais entrances are wheelchair accessible thanks to automatic doors, plus access ramps in some areas.
The Palais operates disabled friendly public elevators equipped with sound signals, Braille buttons placed at a convenient height, etc.
Every room in the convention centre is equipped with an assistive listening system for the hearing impaired that uses FM radio frequencies. A simple headset is all you need for excellent reception. This service is available strictly upon request to preserve the confidentiality of the meetings.
Annual action plan for disabled individuals
Emergencies
In emergency situations, disabled occupants can use the red phones stationed throughout the Palais to contact the Security Desk directly.
When the fire alarm is triggered, it sets off stroboscopes and horns instructing the hearing and visually impaired to evacuate the building.
